Ithink Erika is a girl with alot of problems and she isn't so hard and Rruthie like to help people she is very smart. AJ has a lot of problems too because of the death of his mom but his chance to break out is football.

chapter 4:
Erika tells about her life. She has problems with another gang because they are 'black like shit'. She tells about her mom, who is white and discriminate her because she has a black father, but he doesn't live with her mom together and because of this her mom doesn't like AJ because he is black too.
chapter5:
We learn something about AJ.
-little brother Anthony
-older brother Franco take drugs and is in the gang compton
-comptons are against Mg's and Erika kiss on a party a MG
-AJ kiss a white girl/Erika hates that
-his mom died for three years
chapter6:
Erika thinks about the problems that black people have and she doesn#t feel like a real black girl because she has a happy family.
chapter7:
Erika likes to sing than she can show her feelings. In the church where she sings she sees Ruthie but AJ isn't coming.
chapter8:
Ruthie will be a friend of AJ and wnt to help him with homework. He asks her how it feels to be fallen in love bacause Erika asks him if he loves her.
Chapter9:
Ruthie wants to help AJ with the homework but he has forgotten that Ruthie wants to come around and he plays cards with friends.Ruthie is disappointed and they don't learn together.
chapter10:
AJ becomes popular because every university want the footballstar.
He asks Ruthie where he should go. She tells him the truth but he isn't happy with this.He has problems with Ronell a friend of his brother Franco.
chapter11:
Ronell tells Franco that he has problems with AJ, but Franco isn't interested and smokes his pipe.
chapter12:
AJ signed the letters of intent with Florida State University.
He celebrates this with his friends who signed their letters too, but for other universities.
chapter13:
Ruthie is one of the finalists of the National Achievement.
Ruthie tutors Anthony.
chapter14:
Erika has the lead in the school-musical but shanice (one of the other gang) too.Erika thinks Shanice will be the first because she is dark and Erika is too light.
chapter15:
Ruthie learns with Anthony as AJ sees that he doesn't want that they learn together but as Franco cames AJ let Anthony go to eai an ice with Ruthie.
chapter16:
Ruthie has a big discussion with AJ because of his mother.
Ruthie and AJ start a fight, but they don't want to do that and they want talk about all.
chapter17:
AJ tells Ruthie all about his problems with his mom,Franco and so on.
Then Franco gives Anthony a special job to bring someone drugs.
AJ and Franco fight.

AJ and Ruthie are in the chemistry lesson and Aj hold chemicals over the fire and it explode in Ruthies face. The teacher ordered AJ to drive Ruthie to the hospital. After this AJ drives her at home and Ruthies mum drives him back to school.chapter 2:Erika is the girlfriend of AJ but she gets on his nerves. The friends of Erika tells her they have seen AJ with another girl and Erika asks AJ. He explains Erika the situation but the friends of Erika don't believe AJ and say to Erika she should keep an eye on AJ.chapter3:Two days after the accident Ruthie comes in the school again and her friend Andrea tells her that Erika keep an eye on her. Kevin Blane,a good friend of AJ,tries to be better than AJ and says to Ruthie that AJ is a dumb-ass, but Ruthie don't think so. On this day Ruthie notices that AJ is a sweet guy and understand why girls like him.
